Ballymena United has unveiled a new third kit for the 2025/26 season that honors the memory of young fan Lydia Ross, who tragically passed away in a car accident. The kit features a sky blue ribbon on the front, symbolizing Lydia's spirit and the club's support for her family. Manager Jim Ervin expressed that the shirt represents more than just the club; it embodies the love and support of the Ballymena community. Lydia, who was from the Ballymoney area, was a dedicated supporter of Ballymena United, often attending matches with her father, Paul Ross. Paul shared how special those moments were for them, stating that they were always there for each game, win or lose. The new kit design not only commemorates Lydia but also contributes to a charitable cause, as a portion of the sales will be donated to Air Ambulance NI, a charity that Lydia's family has been actively supporting since her passing.
