Ballymena United will aim for a third consecutive Premiership win when they visit Limavady United at The Showgrounds this Saturday. The Sky Blues sit eighth in the table with 12 points from nine games, boosted by a 1-0 away victory over Cliftonville last time out.
Victor Martins said, "We think that Limavady United will need to push hard to find the net against this Ballymena United outfit who we think should gain the upper hand."
Ballymena's recent run has seen them score in every one of their last six league matches, netting nine goals in total. Igor Rutkowski has been a key figure, scoring the winner against Cliftonville and also finding the net in the 2-0 win over Portadown. The team's defence, however, will be looking to tighten up after conceding seven times across that same six-game period.
The hosts, managed by Paul Owens, are 10th in the standings and have conceded in five of their last six outings. Their main threat is striker Jamie McGonigle, who has six league goals already this season. Limavady are unbeaten in their last two home league games, but captain Stephen Lowry will need to marshal a defence that has let in eight goals recently. Martins added, "We therefore think that it’s going to be a good tussle with a 0-1 win for Ballymena United at the end of the match." Ballymena's next assignment is this away trip to County Londonderry, kicking off at 3pm on Saturday, 10 October.
