Ballymena United's Girls Academy is launching a free four-week open training programme for young female footballers. The programme, which begins on Thursday, July 2, is designed for players born in 2010 and 2011 who are serious about developing their abilities.

What is the programme about?

The initiative aims to identify and nurture the next generation of local female football talent while providing a welcoming and supportive environment for young players to thrive.

How to get involved

Girls born in 2010 or 2011 who would like to take part in the open training sessions are encouraged to register their interest as soon as possible. The sessions will be led by experienced coaches who will work with players throughout the four-week programme.

Building confidence on and off the pitch

Alongside technical and tactical development, the academy says the programme will focus on helping players build confidence, grow as individuals and enjoy the social side of football.

As of July 1, 2026, Ballymena United is currently 10th in the Premiership with 34 points from 33 games, having scored 39 goals and conceded 50. Their recent form has been LLDWD, with their last result being a 3-2 loss to Crusaders FC on April 25, 2026.
